Ford Certified Used Cars are Sometimes “Better Than New”
The Ford Motor Company stands behind its used car sales by providing a dynamic Pre-Owned Certification Program. The favorable Ford used car prices are enhanced by the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) package that includes six essential components.

To qualify for this program a Ford vehicle must be less than 6 model years old, and have less than 80,000 miles. With the Ford F-Series trucks and the E-Series vans, vehicles may be up to the 350 series to qualify for the Certification process. Models above the 350 series are ineligible.

Eligible Ford cars, trucks and vans undergo a rigorous 169 point inspection check. Components that are below standard are replaced or repaired with new parts. The results of this inspection determine the eligibility of the Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle. Only vehicles that pass this 169 point check are certified used cars, trucks or vans.
Certified Ford used cars are also run through a vehicle history check. This report lists registered repairs, and accident reports. The history report also serves to verify the accuracy of the odometer reading.

Ford Certified Pre-Owned trucks, cars and vans are accompanied by Ford’s 6 year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty. This warranty covers the engine and transmission and is transferable to new owners.

With the Ford Certified Pre-Owned Program, the powertrain warranty is supplemented by the Ford Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty covers more than 500 vehicle parts in the engine, transmission, rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, air conditioning and heating systems, brakes and steering components. Electrical elements, front suspension, audio and high tech features, emissions and safety features are also warranted. This comprehensive plan assures used car buyers that Ford Motor and their dealerships will stand behind their products.

Qualified buyers reap other rewards from the Certified Pre-Owned Program. Used Ford Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Focus, Fusion, Mustang, and Taurus models are eligible for 2.9% financing. This financing incentive also applies to used Mercury Grand Marquis, Mariner, Mountaineer, Sable, Milan and Lincoln Aviator, Town Car and Navigator models. This certified pre-owned vehicle financing package ends on 09-30-08 and represents the confidence Ford, Lincoln and Mercury have in their products. Ford Certified Dealers can provide information and handle applications for these special financing terms.

Ford also backs its certified used cars with a stalwart 24 hour roadside assistance program. Whatever the problem, whatever the cause, owners of certified Ford pre-owned vehicles can rely on prompt, round the clock assistance. Included in the roadside assistance program are allowances for breakdowns away from home. This can take the shape of lodging expenses or vehicle rental expenses. This assistance is available to certified Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.

The Certified Pre-Owned Programs from Ford, Lincoln and Mercury are designed to assure buyers of the safety, performance and dependability of their used car purchase.
